INVITATION TO APPLY FOR “BEST PRACTICE IN SKILLS DEVELOPMENT AWARDS”

Forest Industries Education and Training Authority (FIETA) invites applications from levy and non-levy paying enterprises, NGOs and CBOs within the forest sector for consideration in respect of the prestigious “Best Practice in Skills Awards”.

This award will be presented by the Minister of Labour at a gala dinner during the annual National Skills Conference which will take place in October 2008.The award recognizes enterprises that have good practices in skills development. The award is the pinnacle of recognition in skills development in South Africa. Recipients of the award will be entitled to place this on their promotional material.

Applications will be reviewed against a list of Department of Labour/SETA/NSA agreed evaluations and weighted criteria applicable to the specified category.

Pursuant to our quality assurance mandate, FIETA invites member organisations to participate in our Assessor and Moderator Capacity Building Programme. NOTIFICATION TO SUPPLIERS AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WHO WOULD LIKE TO DO BUSINESS WITH FIETA

Forest Industries Education and Training Authority (FIETA) is a statutory body established through the Skills Development Act of 1998. The main function of FIETA is the development and implementation of a sector skills plan within the framework of the national skills development strategy for the forestry industries.

FIETA will in the future advertise all their requests for bids in the Government Tender Bulletin as required by law and on the FIETA website. The Government Tender Bulletin is obtainable from the Government Printer or available on the National Treasury website at www.treasury.gov.za. The FIETA website address is www.fieta.org.za.

All prospective suppliers and service providers are encouraged to at least peruse the above-noted mechanisms for future opportunities at FIETA.
